What is Filetickets.ca?

Filetickets.ca is an online Process server company that lets you pay or file your Provincial Offences Act violations (e.g., Traffic Tickets, Red-light camera, Speed camera etc). Filetickets.ca was developed to assist the public with their payment or filing needs.

What types of POA fines can I pay online?

The following POA fines can be paid online. Tickets issued by:

  • Police Service
  • Ontario Provincial Police
  • Red Light Camera Tickets
  • Speed Camera Tickets
  • City Bylaw Enforcement
  • Ministry of Transportation
  • Ministry of Environment
  • Ministry of Labour

You can pay your tickets for all Provincial Offences Courts located In Ontario.

How long does it take to submit my payment request online through FileTickets.ca?

It only takes a matter of minutes to submit your payment request online. To simplify the process, have your credit card and offence number ready.

What is the maximum number of tickets I can pay?

There is no limit on the number of tickets you can pay. Please note: if you have multiple tickets, you will have to pay each ticket individually. A non-refundable handling fee applies to each transaction and the dollar amount for each transaction is subject to authorization by the appropriate credit card company.

Is there a charge to use the Filetickets.ca service for paying tickets?

Yes, there is a non-refundable fee for each transaction. Fees payable are $5.00.

What forms of payment can be used online?

Forms of payment that can be used for online payments are: valid VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. There is no connection to online banking. debit, credit/debit (e.g., Visa debit), and pre-paid credit cards.

What happens if I don't pay my fine in full?

Failure to pay your fine in full could result in a conviction being entered against you. Upon conviction you will be required to pay the set fine including court costs and the applicable victim fine surcharge by the due date. Failure to pay the fine imposed upon conviction by the due date will result in one or more of the following: Refusal by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to issue a vehicle permit

  • Driver's license suspension
  • An additional administrative fee
  • The defaulted fine information is provided to a credit bureau.
My license is suspended for fines, how do I get it back?

If your driver’s licence is suspended for unpaid fines, there will be a delay in updating the Ministry of Transportation records if payment is done through FileTickets.ca and Court Services. It is suggested that you Contact your local Service Ontario Office to reinstate your driver’s license. You may pay your outstanding fines that are suspending your Licence at Service Ontario and they may reinstate your licence immediately after fines and reinstatement fee are paid. Contact Ministry of Transportation Driver control unit @ 416-235-1086.

How do I get a confirmation of payment?

Once you have completed the payment request process online, a confirmation email of the request will be emailed to you with receipt from Filetickets.ca. If you require the receipt that was submitted to Court Services, please email us at Records@filetickets.ca.

I paid my ticket through Filetickets.ca. When will the payment be processed?

Although we try to process payments with 24-48 hours of the next business day, it can take up to three business days to process your payment and update the court records. It can take up to five business days to update the Ministry of Transportation records.

Can I get a copy of my receipt?

An email receipt is automatically sent to you upon payment. Please check your email records. alternatively, you can Email us at Info@filetickets.ca.

I lost my ticket; how can I make payment?

Contact Court Services in jurisdiction that issued the ticket. To find the municipality or court jurisdiction contact information, please see the list of Provincial Offences Courts on our FAQ Page.

I get the message “Error” message when searching for my fine amount. What should I do?

Please verify the ticket details are correct and try searching again. If the ticket is within 7 business days from the offence date noted on your ticket, your ticket may not have been filed immediately with the Court. It is likely because the enforcement officer has not yet filed your ticket with the Court. You will need to try again later when the ticket is filed with the Court.

If the ticket number is still not found after that time, please contact the Provincial Offences Court office that issued the ticket. A list of Courts can be found on our FAQ page.

What should I do if I enter incorrect information?

If you have entered incorrect information and have completed the transaction you should contact us as soon as possible. Please have both the correct and incorrect information available.

What are the hours of operation for online payments?

You can pay your POA fines online any time of the day or night, however, support service will be available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Who can I contact if I am encountering difficulties paying my fine online?

If you are encountering difficulties:

  • Check that you have a compatible browser
  • Click on Refresh and try to connect again
  • Check with your Internet Service Provider to ensure that you are able to connect to the Internet

Can parking tickets be paid on this site?

Parking tickets system is currently in final stages of development and is expected to launch in June 2022. Once launched, you can pay parking tickets for select municipalities across Ontario. Locations will be listed on the search form.

Can I pay defaulted POA fines online?

Yes, defaulted POA fines - fines that are past their due date - can be paid online.

What is the Filetickets.ca refund policy?

Refunds are managed by Court Services for the municipality of the Offence. If you wish to request a refund, you must contact Court Services in the jurisdiction listed on your ticket. Please note, the Filetickets.ca handling fee is non-refundable.

I paid my ticket, but I received a notice in the mail that the ticket wasn't paid. what should I do?

It can take up to 72 hours for the information to be updated in the court ICON System database. Contact the municipality or court jurisdiction listed on your ticket and provide them with the Offence number printed on your receipt.

My ticket payment is due today and I just paid my fine via Filetickets.ca - Does this mean my payment is late?

Payments received and processed by FileTickets.ca require 1-3 business days to be processed by Court Services, if payment is received on or after the due date, it may result in increased fines or other collection actions being taken. Please confirm with Court Services by contacting them directly.

What is the victim fine surcharge?

A victim fine surcharge is applied to provincial and federal fines and is credited to a special fund to assist victims of crime. It is usually 25 per cent of the imposed fine. For example, a $100 fine would result in a $25 surcharge.

Why do I need to provide an e-mail address for ticket payments? I don't want to receive unsolicited e-mails.

We ask for your valid e-mail address in order to send you a copy of your Payment Receipt or to contact you in the event of a refund. We will not use your e-mail address to send you any unsolicited mail.

How do I know the credit card I used to pay my ticket is safe?

FileTickets.ca is committed to providing a secure environment that protects your personal information. File Tickets selected Authorize.net to process the payments because of Authorize.net has experience and expertise in Payment gateway services in a secure environment. Please refer to our security statement for more information.

Does Filetickets.ca store my personal information in a secure environment?

Yes, Filetickets.ca stores all information submitted to the site in a secure and encrypted environment.

I received an email from File tickets. How do I know if it is real or if it is SPAM?

Once a request is made to pay or file a ticket, a confirmation email will be sent to you confirming submission of your request. This email will never request to provide confidential information or to pay a ticket from Filetickets.ca – DO NOT respond to it or click on any links provided. Instead, please forward the e-mail to Info@filetickets.ca.

File tickets will NOT contact you via email requesting payment or personal information. Phishing is a type of SPAM that includes sending phony e-mail messages designed to look legitimate. The goal of these email is to trick individuals into disclosing confidential information which can lead to identity theft and online fraud.

What is Filetickets.ca?

Filetickets.ca is an online process server company that assists you to pay of file your Provincial Offences Act violations (e.g. Traffic Tickets, Red-light camera, Speed camera etc.).

What are Provincial Offences Act fines?

Provincial offences are minor (non-criminal) offences that include but are not limited to:

  1. Speeding, careless driving, hand held device, seatbelt - Highway Traffic Act
  2. Failing to surrender your insurance card or possessing a false or invalid insurance card - Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
  3. Being intoxicated in a public place or selling alcohol to a minor - Liquor Licence Act
  4. Entering prohibited premises or failing to leave premises after being directed to do so - Trespass to Property Act
  5. Occupational Health and Safety and Ministry of Environment violations
  6. Noise, taxi and animal care bylaws - City bylaws

How does the filing service work?
  1. Select one of the two filing options Early resolution or Trial Request
  2. Submit your ticket and contact information through our filing process.
  3. Email confirmation of your request will be sent to you for your records after you file.
  4. Once received, we will request the hearing option on your behalf with Court Services.
  5. The court will send you a hearing date in the mail or by email.
  6. FileTickets.ca will find a local legal services provider to give you a free consultation so you know your rights * you can decline this consultation *
Which Court locations do you serve?

We serve all Provincial Offences Courts located In Ontario for Trial requests and Payments. Early resolution is only available for Courts that offer this type of service.

How long does it take to submit my hearing request on FileTickets.ca?

It only takes a matter of minutes to submit your request online. To simplify the process, have offence information ready.

What is the maximum number of tickets I can File?

You can file up to 5 traffic tickets at once. Please note: If you have multiple tickets that are from different Dates/times you must file tickets separately.

Is there any cost for filing?

No! This is a FREE online service.

Can I still file the ticket if I am over the 15-day period?

We will accept the ticket within 35 days from the offence date. Please note, the Provincial Offences Act of Ontario indicates the request should be made within 15 days of the offence date. Generally, the court will not convict after 15 days and you may still have an opportunity to make your request if the ticket has not put on a “fail to respond” docket for a conviction. If you are within 45 days please send us a message through our contact us form or contact the court directly for more information.

Will you provide the court date?

No. This service will NOT provide you with a court date. The court will send you a notic to the address you provide us online or in some cases your email address. Generally, the court will send out a notice within 6-8 weeks however due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Court Services has experienced delays all over the province. I have not received my court date, what should I do?

If you received confirmation from us that your ticket was filed and you still have not received a notice in the mail after 4 months, please contact the Court office directly. The contact information is on the back of your ticket or in our FAQ section of our website.

You can also visit the Government of Ontario website to look up the status of your traffic ticket. ( https://www.ontario.ca/page/check-status-traffic-tickets-and-fines-online-or-request-meeting-resolve-your-case ).

Who will FileTickets.Ca not provide their services to?

FileTickets.ca will NOT file tickets on behalf of a third party, company or corporation including those who have been paid or retained to provide legal services. This service is for the INDIVIDUALS that were charged on the ticket and the defendant should be using this service as it is in our terms of agreement.

I lost my ticket; how can File my request?

Contact Court Services and provide them with your driver’s licence number to look up on the system. To find the contact information, please see the list of Provincial Offences Courts on our FAQ Page.

How do I know my notice has been received?

An immediate confirmation will be sent to the email you provided us to confirm your documents have been received. In the event you did not receive a confirmation email, please contact us at info@filetickets.com .

I paid my ticket, but I changed my mind and want to file it - What should I do?

Although we try to process payments with 24-48 hours of the next business day. If payment hasn’t been submitted by us to Court services and your ticket is within the timeframe to file, we may be able to cancel your payment and submit your hearing request. you can Email us at Info@filetickets.ca and we will try to accommodate but cannot guarantee this cancelation.

Can I get a copy of my request for a court date?

An email receipt is automatically sent to you upon submitting your request online. If you require a stamped copy or confirmation from Court Services, you can Email us at Info@filetickets.ca and we will look up the request in our files.

I didn't get an email confirmation even though I entered my email address — can you re-send it?

Please check any Spam or Junk folders as it may have been redirected there. If one is not found, it may be that the email address was entered incorrectly. You can Email us at Info@filetickets.ca and we will attempt to facilitate your request.

Is there any cost for the consultation with the Legal Service company once my ticket is filed?

No. There is no consultation fee. However, if you decide to retain the company, then a fee will be required for them to represent you in court. This is discussed between you and the provider. FileTickets.ca is not involved with legal representation.

Am I required to hire the legal representative from my consultation for my court date?

No, there is no obligation to hire to legal the representative from your consultation. We do recommend you retain legal representation as it would be beneficial for your matter. Consultations are free and have no obligation. You may represent yourself or hire anyone you choose.
